Combs Ford Surgery serves the population of Stowmarket as well as some of its surrounding villages.

Our team includes 7 GPs, one nurse practitioner, five senior nurses, three health care assistants as well as our practice managers, medical secretaries and reception / administration staff.

Our Senior Partner will be retiring in the summer of 2014 and therefore we are actively looking for his replacement. Please see Job Vacancies for more details.

receptionWe offer a full general practice service including health promotion clinics for diabetes, asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), heart disease and high blood pressure. We also offer minor surgical procedures on site. We have an on-site dispensing service for any of our patients living more than one mile away from a pharmacy / chemist.

At Combs Ford Surgery, we aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. 

24/7 - We offer an online booking system for Doctors appointments. Please see Further Information or speak to a receptionist to obtain a password.

Patients are also able to book via the automated telephone system by dialling 01449 678333 and pressing 1. This will enable you to book, cancel or check an appointment.

Please note that it is not possible to book Nurses appointments online or on the automated telephone system due to the complex and varied appointment types ie smears  and vaccinations.  Please contact Reception on 01449 678333 who will be able to help you.  Thank you.

Prescription charges from 1st April 2104

 

The charge for an NHS prescription will be increased to £8.05 from the 1st of April 2014.  The prepayment certificate will remain the same at £29.10 for 3 months and £104 annually.  This is the most cost effective for patients needing  4 medications or more.in 3 months and 13 or more in one year.

 

 

Care.Data Programme

Patients will be receiving a leaflet through their door in the next few weeks entitled "Better Information means better care".  Please read carefully as this will explain how data will be extracted from GP medical records  for the purpose of improving the planning and delivery of future care.  More information will be available from the patient information line on 0300 456 3531 from the 6th January 2014 or from the NHS England link shown under Care Data Programme on the right hand side of this page. It is also possible to opt out - please complete the relevant form also available under the Care Data Programme section.
